Tora – High Enough

New music / Tora

After seeing Byron Bay residents Tora twice at Great Escape earlier this year, we can safely say that the Australian quintet are easily one of the most exciting acts around right now. Their intoxicating mix of shuffling electronics and experimental indie is one that’s almost incomparable, whilst being immediately accessible.

Returning this week with new single ‘High Enough‘, the band are on absolute top form. Whilst it’s quite tricky to determine which of Tora’s three vocalists are singing at any one time, it’s almost irrelevant – as each of them have such gorgeous voices, all harmonising together beautifully (we can confirm that this is also the case live).

Tora’s trademark blend of deep electronic production and live instrumentals is on full display here, with vocalist Jo Loewenthal explaining that the song “…is about missing somebody and feeling like the distance between you both is getting bigger.”  Perhaps a nod to the life of a touring band – and the difficulties that arise as a result, this song perfectly embodies the hard-working ethic of Tora. Currently on a mammoth European tour, we’d advise you try and catch the band at one of the dates detailed below. In the meantime, stream new single ‘High Enough’ below, and catch up with the Eat The Sun EP, and their self-titled EP.
