4 years on from the release of his debut album ‘Dark Young Hearts’, Benjamin Garrett, aka Fryars is back from his presumed musical demise, and it sounds like he means business. With the unveiling of Love So Cold at the start of October, things sounded promising for the young Londoner. The track was distant, kind of eerie, unsettling – but amidst the haunting piano lines and cold drum samples, Ben was wearing his heart on his sleeve with his fragile, yet elegant vocals and lyrics, masterfully depicting an apparently pretty lonely time in his life.
Today, we were given another sample of what Fryars has got to offer this time round, with the distinctly more upbeat In My Arms. Built around gorgeous piano arpeggios and chord punches, the track is essentially a pop hit in the making, displaying wonderfully experimental song writing and executing it all effortlessly. Watch the video for In My Arms below, which was also revealed today to accompany the track.
