MUST – The Devil Lives

Little is known about MUST. Whether this is because I’m bad at internet research, or because they’re really giving nothing away, I’m not sure. Nevertheless their music is certainly speaking for them at the moment.

My first real encounter with them came with the track Graceland a few months back, a surf-pop gem reminiscent of the the likes of Real Estate, but with added bite.

Today they have unveiled a new track entitled ‘The Devil Lives’. A slightly different affair to the aforementioned ‘Graceland’, still with the reverb-laden surf-pop vocals, but with the instrumentation edging closer to a grungy indie rock sound more akin to Pavement and Guided By Voices. I think it’s superb, and MUST are definitely a band to keep an eye on over the coming months.

If you fancy seeing them live, be sure to catch them at Amazing Radio’s ALT THURSDAY night at The Old Queens Head in Islington on 29th November, with LULS and Entertainment.
